    D'origine australienne, Kevin Harrington débute sa carrière de comédien en se produisant avec la Melbourne Theatre Company dans les pièces Le Songe d'une nuit d'été et Cyrano de Bergerac. Par la suite, il écrit, met en scène, produit et interprète son propre spectacle en solo, Guess who's Mum's got a willie.

    Il décroche son premier rôle en 1988 à la télévision dans la série australienne à succès Neighbours. Dès lors, il se montre très actif au petit écran : il enchaîne les programmes télé comme The Glenn Nicholas Show (1996) et Seachange (1998) diffusé sur ABC.

    En 2000, Kevin Harrington joue aux côtés de Sam Neill dans son premier long métrage, The Dish, une comédie de Rob Sitch dont l'action se déroule en juillet 1969, durant la mission Apollo 11.
