Après avoir vu les deux premiers OAV, c'est un bon préquel, bien réalisé (et le doublage de Maaya Sakamoto est extrêmement proche de celui de Atsuko Tanaka, d'ailleurs elle jouait déjà le rôle de Motoko Kusanagi jeune dans le premier Ghost In). Sinon le projet d'adaptation live US, repart avec Rupert Sanders, le clippeur Lover de Blanche Neige et le chasseur. A Hollywood, on ne lâche jamais l'affaire.
