Citation : Leonardio DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are back together on the big screen, eleven years after the smash hit Titanic. I think that's about as exciting as doing laundry, but I'm sure there are plenty of female fans who are glad they're reuniting. These would be the same female fans who shelled out money for Titanic in the theater five times and cried like Brett Favre in a retirement speech every time they saw it. But will this film have the same impact? I doubt it.
One, it has no ships so there's no possible way to see Leonardo die on screen unless he drowns in the bathtub. Two, they're playing a couple who argues a lot and struggles with raising their children. Why the fuck would I go to the theater to see that? Don't we go to the movies to escape reality? I can just call my parents on three-way if I want to listen to people argue for ninety minutes.
A young couple living in a Connecticut suburb during the mid-1950s struggle to come to terms with their personal problems while trying to raise their two children. Based on a novel by Richard Yates.
