The Eternals : la transformation impressionnante de Kumail Nanjiani (Kingo) pour le film Marvel

L'acteur et réalisateur Kumail Nanjiani ("The Big Sick") a changé physiquement pour s'adapter à son rôle de superhéros dans "Eternals", l'un des prochains films Marvel.

Depuis qu'il sait qu'il va rejoindre le film Marvel Eternals, l'acteur Kumail Nanjiani s'est mis à la musculation intensive. En un an, le comédien et réalisateur a bien changé, comme il le montre sur Instagram :

I never thought I’d be one of those people who would post a thirsty shirtless, but I’ve worked way too hard for way too long so here we are. You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain. I found out a year ago I was going to be in Marvel’s Eternals and decided I wanted to transform how I looked. I would not have been able to do this if I didn’t have a full year with the best trainers and nutritionists paid for by the biggest studio in the world. I’m glad I look like this, but I also understand why I never did before. It would have been impossible without these resources and time. So big thanks to @grantrobertsfit who started working with me at the beginning of the year and made me understand true physical pain for months and months. Then, once we started shooting, a massive thanks to @davidhigginslondon and his team (@ellispartridge, @thebeardypt, @tomcheesemanfitness) for training me almost every day and making me strong, limber and injury free. I can almost touch my toes now. (And thank you for forcing me to do cheat meals David.) Matthews Street Catering for their delicious and healthy meals. And finally, the biggest thanks goes to @emilyvgordon for putting up with me complaining and talking about only working out and dieting for the last year. Cette musculation intensive fut aussi celle d'autres comédiens avant lui, de Paul Rudd à Chris Pratt, déjà pour le MCU. On se souvient d'ailleurs qu'au moment du tournage de Logan, Hugh Jackman commençait, à 47 ans, à se plaindre des restrictions et de la discipline de fer nécessaires à obtenir un tel corps.

Dans Eternals, Kumail Nanjiani incarnera Kingo, un Eternel intégré dans la société humaine. Dans les comics, Kingo est japonais et devient une star de cinéma dans son pays. Ayant appris sur Terre la voie du samouraï, il choisit de ne pas utiliser ses capacités d'Eternel. Pour coller au casting de Nanjiani, il est fort probable que cette intrigue soit transposée au Pakistan.

Chloe Zhao (The Rider) réalise cette histoire présentant les Eternels, ces personnages surpuissants et immortels, quasi divins, comme des protecteurs de la Terre. Créés par les Célestes, ils affrontent régulièrement les Déviants, eux aussi créés par les Célestes. Les spectateurs suivront le groupe des Eternels à travers différentes époques. Kit Harington jouera Black Knight, tandis que le reste du casting fait tout autant saliver. Sortie le 4 novembre prochain.
